This outfit is a result of a shopping trip geared around buying new clothes for work...clearly I was incredibly focussed and came away with these outrageously comfortable Girlfriend Jeans from BDG which I could probably just about get away with on dress down Friday. Back to the drawing board on that one! However, these jeans are definitely not a purchase I regret, they are so lovely I'm probably going to get the darker, shorter version too! My Mum was also eyeing them up....maybe I should hide them when I visit.

I was also brave enough to wear these black Topshop lace up flats; they're a little unusual but I really like that about them! I can't wait to pair them with little skirts for summer to poke them out from under a maxi dress.

I hope you've all had a great weekend! It's been a long weekend here in the UK and shockingly, it rained.

So I deviated from my typical colour combination in my last outfit post by wearing a camel coat - which is about as much colour as I like to sport at any given time. The Missguided light pink co-ord last week was also drawing a little close to my imaginary (and admittedly restrictive) line. Therefore, I thought it only fitting that my next OOTD be as much lacking in colour as possible to, in effect, counter balance my rather rash decision to wear...um....pink. Fortunately I managed to coordinate an outfit of almost entirely grey to suit my de-saturated colour palette and set the world right again.

I hope you all have enjoyed the weekend, I went home to visit my parents and friends to celebrate Bonfire Night in my home town (a little early I know but it's always been that way). It's something I've always remembered going to as a kid - I used to watch my granddad save all the garden waste in giant bags to then help him take them to the large bonfire site by the beach to tip them on the pile. It's something that will never get old and I will always enjoy :).

I do smile, I promise!

Today's look is inspired by the 'pyjama' trend so effortlessly expressed by Alexander Wang SS14. I must admit I've been on the hunt for a shirt like this for a while, and finally managed to get my mitts on one from the men's section at H&M! (if the shoe fits, right?).

I hope you like this look!

Spring has arrived! I'm so happy, Spring is my favourite season. Why? Because it's a great way to blend winter trends with upcoming summer ones - and the result is today's ensemble with spring whites mixed with chunky knits. I am completely in love with my new Mango trousers, they are incredibly comfortable, they fit like a dream and have the exact shape I've been looking for in a cream trouser. They will definitely be a staple throughout the Spring and into the Summer.

What do you think? Hope you've all had a lovely weekend!

Plaid!

Sunday, 6 October 2013

I love a trend that's easy to wear and will always come back around again and plaid/tartan is definitely one of those trends! I ( very luckily) managed to get a hold of this very much sort-after Zara number whilst shopping in Brighton on Monday despite my hopes being dashed by the lack of availability online. Do you like it?

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend, mine's been fairly quiet but lots of dinners with my Aunty Heather who's been visiting from Canada for two weeks which has been lovely.

Little Blue Jacket

Sunday, 29 September 2013

Ok firstly, SO sorry about the lack of posts on here and Instagram this week! I've been really busy working and trying to sort stuff out I just haven't had the time to prepare any posts. However, I plan to get lots done this week to make up for it and have some new projects in the pipeline which is exciting!

Secondly, 300 followers!! Yay!! Thank you all so much for your support and all the lovely comments I receive, it's really encouraging and is making me want to do more exciting posts. I was thinking about doing a giveaway, so we'll have to see about that this week!
