The Best of London Fashion Week

Monday 29 September 2014

So it's coming to the end of Fashion Month and what a month it's been! The shows, the street style, Instagram going mad - it's been a good one. Here is my round up of my favourite looks from LFW collections, which were your favourites?

Belstaff

I love the colours in this collection, it's muted tones with a slight warmth with the green and bright blue. A wonderful selection (I particularly like the trench coat!).

Felder Felder

This is summer perfection!! I can't wait to see how people wear the Felder Felder collection at the festivals next year, especially those cowboy boots. I can see this brand getting increasingly popular this year.

Jonathan Saunders

Wonderful summer pastels, flirty skirts, masculine lines what more could you ask from Jonathan Saunders?

Pringle of Scotland

Cant I just have the whole collection?! Wearing blue in black in Spring?! Can't wait...

Topshop Unique

Sports chic just the way I like it! Topshop did it again :)

So there you have it, my London Fashion Week round up!! What were your highlights from fashion month?

Ark Clothing - Playsuits

Saturday 27 September 2014

It's no secret amongst my readers and my friends that I am definitely not a dress person - I don't know why, they seem practical but I just don't get them. In fact, I recently bought a pencil skirt for work and still don't feel right till I'm back home in my hockey pants and baggy tees. However, this has left me in a bit of a conundrum when it comes to dressing up and going out - I don't think most clubs would let me in wearing ripped boyfriend jeans. Well Ark Clothing have the answer - the playsuit; the right mix of masculine charm, practicality and sparkle to get me by.
Ark Clothing are a fresh young brand with a variety of different pieces, the selection above are some of my favourite jumpsuits from the site suitable for all different occasions. My favourite is the first one, I definitely can see myself wearing that to a festival with camel suede ankle boots or on a night out with pointed heels.

Which is your favourite?

All three playsuits: Ark Clothing

Jumpsuit: Whistles

I need to get me some jumpsuits! I think they are going to be pretty big for AW14 - definitely going to have to put together an inspiration board or something because I am seeing these everywhere!

What do you think? Not sure I'm all enough to pull on off...

The Whistles SS15 collection presented during London Fashion Week has to be one of the most talked about shows of the entire event. Did anyone else have a 'Harry Potter Platform 9 3/4' moment when it was revealed the show would be held at none other than Kings Cross Tube Station?! But as with everything that happens at LFW, it was no happy accident that the show should end up there. What resulted was a clever take on the modern working woman - many catwalk collections appear unattainable and leave a lot of us wondering how we could possibly incorporate them into our everyday wardrobes; but Whistles cleverly demonstrated just how these designs can easily and effortlessly be worn throughout a week/weekend by placing the women in the exact location they would typically find themselves in - on the way to work.
The cool textures, clean lines and subtle colour palette that are so recognisable from the brand reminded us why Whistles is increasingly showing up on the radar as a go-to wearable design base.
I personally cannot wait for the collection to hit the stores, and already have my eye on the cool beige backpack (ssssssh it's only September!).

What did you think of the show?

Anjolee Diamonds

Sunday 14 September 2014

Shoes: Jimmy choo
Jewellery: Anjolee (all)

What do you do when you love casual minimalism but need to dress up all fancy? I am typically not a big jewellery person, I stick with my favourites (watch, the odd bracelet) and rarely deviate from them - which is odd really considering I have about 13 piercings only 4 of which I keep in at a single given time. But when faced with the choice of sparkly sequin dress or small touches of glamour by way of diamond jewellery I think I prefer the latter!
Elegant pieces such as this beautiful diamond eternity bands by Anjolee afford a touch of glamour without going over-board and an edge of femininity which is often lacking in my wardrobe. I think wearing jewellery, not just the jewellery itself, is an art - one I am yet to perfect! Perhaps looking at these lovely pieces might kick start a desire to become a magpie and go after all things shiny...

See more from the Anjolee Diamond collection here or visit their Youtube and Facebook channels to find out more.

Jacket: River Island at ASOS c/o
Trousers: Topshop
Shoes: Adidas Superstar 2.0
It's really time to start thinking about Autumn but needless to say it needs to be done. I've teamed up ASOS and River Island to take part in their Autumn Trend Guide showcasing this seasons but must trends.  I grew up in the nineties so it's not surprising that I take a lot of influence from this decade - it's also no secret that I love my Adidas trainers so they will definitely be following me into Fall! This look for me hints towards 90s normcore with a modern twist and is my take on a growing trend. This jacket is also the most comfortable thing ever!

This sweater is top of my list for Autumn/Winter I cannot wait to get my hands on it! I'm very tempted to buy it now but I will be patient (I may live to regret this), it's not quite that time yet - it's still very hot weather.
