RIGHT It's a full week into November I really need to start thinking about what to buy people for Christmas. When I was younger I was super organised with my gifts, I'd have list after list and even know what cookies I was going to bake for everyone well in advance of the John Lewis gift catalogue being released. However, in my old age I have become a lot less efficient and so am forcing myself to think early about what to buy. It's men I tend to find are the most difficult, in particular my Dad who just doesn't.like.anything! By stark contrast my Mum is the easiest person in the world to shop for - books, cosmetics, house items she is a breathe of fresh air for shoppers. So here is my minimalist's guide to Christmas and I will be posting a few more of these in the run up to the festive season (a 'men's' one I think is in order).

I will get some outfit posts up this week, I've had trouble with the SD card the photos were on so hopefully that'll all be sorted by the end of the weekend :). I've been slack, I know but I'm going home for a few days in a couple of weeks so fully intend to dedicate some decent time to the blog (and Christmas shopping, of course!).

RIGHT. It's coming towards the end of August now so it's time to start thinking about AW14 (Ok, I probably should have started thinking a little before now). I've been compiling my wish lists and I have sweaters sweaters sweaters on the brain! I've already got a few in mind, so I'm looking forward to putting them up on the blog soon.

For the coming season I really want to incorporate the summer culottes trend - I just don't feel I made the most of it and will therefore make the upmost effort to carry on wearing them for as long as winter allows!

Bassike Resort 2015

The Resort collection by Australian (with a hint of New York don't you think?) brand Bassike has captured my heart entirely. It's perfect minimalism and structured silhouettes echo that of Celine and Jil Sander and just make me want to open several credit cards and purchase the lot!

We've seen a emergence of Australian brands fronting many new trends and moving to the forefront of existing ones a la One Teaspoon and their cult line of denim shorts (still after a pair). Hopefully there's a lot more to come, and if Bassike's new Resort collection is anything to go by then I'm very, very excited!

Ain't Laurent Without Yves

I'm back! I cannot wait to start creating new content this week. I've just moved so now won't have to deal with endless travel every day so yay to more time spent doing what I enjoy. Thank you for still reading in my absence :).

I've finally had a chance to wear these gorgeous Topshop culottes I bought last week. I know this trend isn't for everyone and many have their reservations about it but it's always fun to try these things out and see if it works for you or not. For me, I'm in love - they feel great, comfortable, floaty and perfect for summer. I've got a few outfits planned with these babies so expect to see a lot more culottes-related posts coming your way this spring/summer.

I would also like to wish you all a wonderful Easter! I hope you have a lovely time and don't get too sick from the all the chocolate! I've been on lent for the last 6 weeks having given up chocolate, cakes, biscuits etc. (if you follow me in Instagram you'll notice a distinct lack of cake-related posts) and therefore cannot WAIT to get my hands on the first Easter egg tomorrow morning (I was thinking instead of using a bowl for my Cornflakes half a chocolate egg will suffice....perhaps?).

I've been wearing these boyfriend jeans a lot lately, they're just so comfy and work really well in Spring because they're loose fitting and super slouchy - perfect for shopping don't you think? That's exactly what I wore them yesterday for and I can't wait to try out some new outfits for the blog I bought! SS14 is going to be a good season for fashion (oh you should see the culottes I got!).

I cannot wait to get my hands on these Topshop Culottes! I've been debating them for a little while and have decided I have to have them in my life (assuming they suit me, I haven't actually tried them on yet). It's that time of year where I'm rummaging around under my bed and at the back of my closet to try and find my sandals from the previous summer (it seems so long ago). So by the time I've found them and blown off the dust I realise I either no longer like them, they're a bit battered or just simply not passable as fashionable or wearable anymore. So I guess that only means one thing....new shoes!! (Like we all need any excuse). So these are some of the sandals I've come across that have made the list of potential suspects.
