Tan Culottes

Tuesday, 30 December 2014

Blouse: Topshop
Culottes: Miss Selfridge
Sunglasses: Fendi

So here's a little something - colour! Ok, it's not exactly the brightest or even colourfulist (I know that's not a word) of the pigments but it's not black, grey or white hence I believe this to be progress (or a victory in my friend's case). I do like sticking to a fairly monochrome palette, it's easy to pair things with, looks smart most of the time and stands the test of time but occasionally I do like to dip into the pale pinks, tans and camels (it's not that much of a deviation, right?).

As I was attempting to sale shop at the weekend (with not much luck, I just can't be bothered!) I came across these camel/tan beauties in Miss Selfridge - typically new collection but a bargain nonetheless. I've been making a conscious effort to look out for things I can wear to work as well as on the blog/casually which has proven a little more difficult than I thought it would be, I just love my trainers! So on my hunt for blouses and blazers *grumble grumble* these lovely culottes stood out and screamed at me to buy them. I may be laughed out the office come Monday but I'm at least brave enough to give it a go!

What do you think? I can't wait to style them on the blog!

Keeping Things Classic

Monday, 29 December 2014

Jumper: Zara (old, similar,similar )
Jeans: Old (similar
Sunglasses: Rayban at smartbuyglasses.co.uk

I hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas! I would normally apologise for the absence lately but you've all probably been the same - tucking into turkey, wine, chocolates (or equivalent) instead of leaning over your computer clicking through blogs which I am most certainly not sorry for! Unfortunately though, I got ill Christmas Eve which completely SUCKED and meant less turkey, wine and chocolates than I would normally have been satisfied with. In fact, I spent the majority of Boxing Day dozing off on any comfortable surface available (I was not excused from the family obligations despite sneaking off to bed at one point). Despite this, I still had a fabulous Christmas and am grateful for every moment I got to spend with my family.

Today's look is a very simple one (the imagination was lacking, I'll blame being sick) as I stuck with what I know works - a chunky Zara knit and my favourite over the knee Stuart Weitzman boots. Having had to 'dress up' for the duration of the festive period  (those who follow the majority of my posts will know this is not something I indulge in regularly) has meant I really want to go back to basics and monochrome in which I feel most comfortable.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, God bless.

Sunglasses: Rayban c/o smartbuyglasses.co.uk

If you've been following my blog for any amount of time you may, or may not have noticed that I have a particular fondness for Rayban sunglasses. I wear them in almost every post! I finally managed to get my hands on the Clubmaster style - a particular pair I've been lusting after for a little while now, from smartbuyglasses.co.uk. They do a huge range of designer sunglasses at amazing prices! (including Celine! I know what my next purchase will be).

So if you're still struggling for ideas this Christmas check out their Christmas Gift Guide, there's plenty of time with fast shipping (I received mine in 2 days!) to order before the big day.

An Alternative to Mules

Sunday, 14 December 2014

Shoes: ASOS

So I've been on the hunt for a nice pair of mules for a while now and when scrolling through the internet recently I came across a fantastic alternative at ASOS. I tend to struggle to keep mules on so they end up hurting from trying after a little while, so these gorgeous pointed heels solved my problem for a not only needing something comfortable but unique in design too!

Adidas Obsessed

Tuesday, 9 December 2014

All: Adidas

I am so obsessed with the Adidas Originals collection at the moment (not so much the bright floral prints but the monochrome bits are the Bee's Knees!). So literally everything on this collage is on my Christmas list so PLEASE PLEASE Santa, I've been really, really good this year I promise.

Have you got anything from this on your Christmas list?

Jumpers: Acne Studios
Jeans: All Saints

I'm so sorry for the lack of posts lately! It's that time of year where you're constantly playing catch up. I hope you're all looking forward to Christmas as much as I am! It's starting to get bitterly cold here now so this might be one of the last posts without a coat for a while...

Black Basics

Monday, 1 December 2014

Jumper: Zara
Culottes: ASOS
Trainers: Adidas Originals
Sunglasses: Rayban

I've been going through a bit of an all-black phase at the moment. I mean, I was never one to steer too near the rainbow palette but as we move more closely into winter I've increasingly been selecting entirely black outfits. Whether that's down to the temperature or I've just gone off everything else on the colour scale, I don't know, but I'm not complaining (it's a lot easier to style!).

I am also struggling to put these black culottes to the back of the wardrobe, they are quite a thick fabric so easy to wear in the cold and a sweater. Expect to see them a bit more before the year is out!

What do you think of my all-black?
